Bad Sleeper is a rock band from Philadelphia, PA. The group formed in early 2019. After a year of playing basement shows around their area, they began releasing singles.
Their newest song is their second to come out since quarantine.
“Take It Back” is about taking back control of your life and reevaluating our present choices to realign our inner compass.
The intro to the song sounds like a call to war. Perhaps it’s the war against our own human instinct.
There’s a clear 70’s rock influence here. Bands like Black Sabbath and Deep Purple are being channeled, there’s no question.
A more modern influence that I noticed in the percussion and bass lines is Tool. There’s a similar dark element or feel to the music.
The whole track has a stadium rock element to it that I think will propel this band to festivals like 2019’s Rockstar Disrupt once we can safely attend again.
