Belau is a Budapest-based electronica duo (Peter Kedves and Krisztian Buzas).
Over the course of their career, they have played 200 live shows in 23 countries.
The group’s debut LP won best electronic music album at the Fonogram Awards in 2020 (Hungarian equivalent of the U.S. Grammys).

Belau describe themselves as “a group who tries to provide shelter for the modern human through their music – representing the path to self-awareness through the depth of the individual.”

Their unique brand of culturally diverse tracks seem to draw influence from everywhere. Belau were kind enough to countdown their favorite albums and cite what exactly those influences are:

Air- Moon Safari

Odesza – A Moment Apart
“Odesza brought electronic music and also live shows to a new level. I think in the last few years they grew to one of the biggest acts in the electronica scene.”

Jungle – For Ever
“Super talented guys who make great vibes. When I listen to this album I’m always happy.”

MØ –  No Mythologies to Follow
“I think it’s the best pop album of the 2010’s. Good production and unique vocals.”

Ibeyi – Ash
“Ibeyi showed me how to blend traditional Caribbean music with other styles. This was a big inspiration for me for our new song, “Luz”.

Leyya – Sauna
“Vienna based band with a unique album. It’s one of my favorites. I love the Sophie Lindinger feature also.”
