Who Is ShyGhy?

ShyGhy has been experimenting with music since the age of 16. He began to find his sound after attending Electric Zoo and being inspired to purchase a set of turntables.
He has created his own unique sound stemming from influences like Seven Lions, Dimitri Vegas, and Odesza.
There are elements of EDM, House, Chillwave and even Future Bass.
Two of his tracks “Find Home” and “Get High” were released on Dimitri Vegas and Like Mike’s sublabel, Smash Deep.

He recently dropped his debut album, Into Summer.
Warm synths lure you in on the opening track, “Follow Me” and stick around for the duration of this 7 song release. The first 30 seconds and certain other parts of this album remind me of Tycho and that is certainly not a bad thing.
There’s a lot of light airy vibes for summertime. The type of music that makes you want to smoke a joint on the beach at sunset, wishing for simpler times.
“Get High” is more of a standard House song than the rest of the album. It doesn’t seem out of place though. ShyGhy has a way of making things that are fundamentally different still sound cohesive.
“Find Home” starts super atmospheric. It feels like floating through space.
My favorite is probably track 3, “Loved U”. He uses some really cool vocal effects that remind me of Passion Pit.
It’s followed by a really interesting interlude in track 4, “Summers Awakening”.
Overall I think this is a really strong album, especially considering it’s a debut. I’m excited to see what ShyGhy comes up with now that we’ve all been stuck in the house for extended periods of time.
