LA based pop star Chelsea Collins dropped a brand new infectious track today. It’s titled “07 Britney” and it will get stuck in your head.
The song as well as the video pay respect to early 2000’s and the most major pop acts of our time.
The video is a really fun DIY tribute to Ms. Spears herself. Collins is definitely having a good time and doesn’t shy away from character work.
One thing about Chelsea, she’s not just a face. Not only does she write songs but she also plays classic piano and guitar.
The melody is smooth and reminds me of Ellie Goulding. The hook is clever and really solidifies the fact that Collins can write one hell of a pop song.
Not only did I have this track stuck in my head immediately but I couldn’t help but wonder how awesome her vocals would sound in the setting of a band. I feel like a Collins cover of “Misery Business” would be incredible.
This is a perfect example of using a theme without making it a gimmick.
