Cobress is a band based out of SouthWest Florida, formed in 2017 and is comprised of Frankie Orion (guitar, vocals, synth), Colin Orion (bass, synth, vocals), Louie Calavera (drums, drum triggers), and Xid (guitar, synth, programming, vocals).
Cobress’ sound invents a category all its own sitting somewhere between the retro synthwave/darkwave, gothic electronic rock, and pop genres, creating a powerful and current blend.
After the release of their debut EP Stagestomp in 2018, Cobress’ popularity continued to grow exponentially in the SouthWest Florida music scene. They are continuing to play more shows in and around their hometown as well as constantly growing on social media.
The band just released Chapter One: Fire on Halloween 2019. Neon Royale will be released in four chapters, each titled after the elements fire, water, earth and air, in that order. The album artwork for each chapter will be one quarter of an overall piece of art that can finally be seen when all the covers are combined.
Cobress has spent a year recording, producing, mixing and mastering all of their new music themselves and the artwork was done by the bands own Colin Orion. They have created the ultimate DIY band, relying solely on themselves to write, create and release music that their fans will love.
In addition to having a refreshing and interesting new sound, the band has an exciting and sensual live stage show with many elements. Cobress employs everything from lasers and lights to diamonds, glitter and elaborate costumes to make their unforgettable live show something to behold.
